Be prepared for a heavy air of anti-Apple, but he really does have a very good knowledge of what goes wrong with them, since he repairs them all day.
If you want to learn more specifics, Louis Rossman is your guy. The 2013-2015 had various issues with gpu dying (basically a total unit failure due to the way Apple handles secondary gpus), screen failure when you opened and closed it too many times, a particular chip that would fail a lot on some (and can’t be replaced because of the way Apple handles parts sourcing), and probably a thing or two other that I’m forgetting. Most of them past 2015 have bad keyboards that cause total unit failures on a very regular basis. However, buying an old product is risky as the battery might be dead or any other major. To wrap it up, the 2015 MacBook Pros are still great to buy.
There are various reasons for future models being unreliable. The 15 MacBook Pro (2015) would be the best for running intensive task based applications like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro or any other app that requires intensive graphic processing.
Even if it is something that warrants replacing the Mac, if anything happened to mine I’d just buy the same model again (unless I was in a position to upgrade to the brand new 16”, which is quality). If it’s not that, it could be some hardware thing, but that is most likely repairable. In fact that can be a good way to check if you can’t find the source of the problem. There’s a good chance if you backup your stuff and reinstall your OS it would be back to normal. This kind of stuff almost always has to do with software, not hardware. iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch wallpapers. These belong in the beta subreddits listed below. Whichll blow any of them out of the water.
Nor would I get any of the butterfly keyboard models. Except maybe a minimum spec 2013 to a maximum spec 2015.
